Pension CARTREF is situated in Saschiz village, Mures county, on the European road E 60, being the nearest accommodation place from Sighisoara, one of the last inhabited medieval fortress in Europe .The house is more than 100 years old and was restored preserving the old Saxon baroque style and refurbished using traditional materials and technologies. The original woodstock, beams and locks have been preserved whenever possible as well as other architectural details 1oo years old. There are 7 rooms from which 4 double and 3 triple ones. The rooms are more than 20 square meters large and additional beds can be installed into some of them. The cars can be parked inside the court. Each room has its own bathroom with permanent hot water, cable TV(English, German, Hungarian and French channels) and free wireless internet. There are 2 Dinning rooms for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a coffee bar . The Courtyard: An open air grill for barbecue and a covered terrace can be used in the courtyard.
Bicycles are provided for our guests and can be used to reach the Saxon villages, while visiting the fortified Evangelic churches and the defense fortresses in Sighisoara, Rupea, Brasov, Biertan,Viscri, Mesendorf etc. One can rent and ride horses or take horse riding lessons at Dracula Complex riding school in Danes, near Sighisoara. For those who wish to get rid of the daily stress, with no internet, mobile phones or TV we reccomend to try a day at Ionut’s sheppard yard( from May to October) where they can witness or even actively participate in the sheppards daily activities and try milking the sheep , preparing various types of cheese and get rewarded at the end with a sheppard’s meal.
